» New Products

As part of its policy of planned development, the company has introduced into Bahrain several new products and techniques:
     1. Spray plastic road marking using reflectorised sprayed thermoplastic.
     2. Gulfcrete – a fully grouted, heavy duty, fuel resistant, specialized surfacing.
     3. Gulf Emulsion – a cationic emulsified asphalt used for surface dressing and soil stabilization.
     4. Gulf Emcol – a cold mixed asphalt surfacing, material incorporating instant road special additives to

         allow adequate compaction and repair adhesion when cold.

 

» Experience

Among the past contracts is a major Airbase project which valued in excess of US $ 32 million. The company sponsored the main contractor, Ret-Ser Engineering Agency, and were working under the strict supervision of the U.S. Corps of Engineers who were the designers and consultants of the Sheikh Isa Airbase Project.

 

This project includes bulk excavation, extensive rock excavation, drainage, sewerage, water supply, irrigations, pumping stations, landscaping, supply of ready mix concrete from an on-site mobile batch plant, roads, runways and hard standings.

 

The success of the company, which now has some 40 percent of the Bahrain asphalt market, was based upon substantial but careful investment in the very best of equipment and in fully qualified staff with proven experience. United Gulf Asphalt employs highly qualified people with its various quarrying, civil engineering, asphalt and plant hire departments.
