To achieve this, the company has recently commissioned a state of the art lubricants manufacturing plant incorporating the most modern and advanced technology and is one of the best in the area.

 

The Plant

UGL has chosen the world’s most advanced technology in order to create the product of impeccable purity backed by the careful selection of acknowledged experts as our suppliers / vendors with high ability to build the project to specified quality levels after a comprehensive and exhaustive evaluation process. A unique feature of the plant is the most modern blending facilities, dedicated lines for base oils and additives and flexible storage for product filling ensure high performance quality products.

 

The Laboratory

The laboratory is the heart of the quality control at UGL. A well-equipped and sophisticated laboratory has been set up to ensure the quality consistency and to monitor the technical specifications profile of both raw materials and the finished product of various grades. All the equipment is imported from world-renowned ISO 9000 certified manufacturers to conform to the specified International Standards.

 

The Product Range

The range of UGL lubricants is manufactured, all to the highest international standards, under the trade mark of “DYNAM”. UGL lubricants are formulated to the highest international standards and specifications set by specialized international institutions such as Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM’s), American Petroleum Institute (API), US Military (MIL) & other international specifications as applicable. Qalco Lubricants

Qatar Lubricants ( QALCO ) is a Qatar based company. It is the first and only lubricant’s blending plant in the State of Qatar, with undertakings given that no further licenses will be granted for similar projects.

 

The plant, of modern design, utilizes the computerized Automated Batch Blending (ABB) system. All equipment is to the highest industry standards. A base oil tank farm of 6,000 tons capacity has the advantage of the tankage linked to excellent deep water berthing facilities by two dedicated pipelines.

 

The plant has a design capacity of 20,000 tons per annum per single shift. The US $ 16 million plant was built on a turnkey basis by international specialist contractors in collaboration with local Construction Company, Petroserv.

 

A state-of-the-art laboratory complements the plant with the latest equipment, including atomic absorption. Qualified and experienced chemists check all lubricants output daily and external analysis work is also undertaken. The use of high quality virgin base oil with Lubrizol additives enabled QALCO to qualify for a number of American Petroleum Institutes (API) Service Classifications. Moreover, Qalco has been granted important approvals from Daimler-Chryler and Volvo. Other submissions are being processed. By offering its products for testing under controlled conditions followed by used oil analysis, Qalco usage approvals were granted by numerous organizations. These include :- The Ministry of Electricity & Water ( MEW ), The Interior Ministry, Qatar Armed Forces, Government Sand Plant, NODCO (QGPC), U.S. Military, Caterpillar, Qatar.

 

QALCO has established a reputation for unmatched technical support and liaison with customers thus ensuring correct choice and applications of lubricants. Coupled with trouble shooting and service planning, QALCO’s initial objectives to become an indispensable part of the industrial mix has been achieved. ◊ RIMA FILTERS

The company’s advanced plant is located in the Rusayl Industrial Estate in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman just 20 km from Seeb Airport. The entire imported plant is brand new equipped with the latest technology. Most of the production processes are semi-automated and care has been taken to ensure that the output from the various machines complements each other to avoid work-in-progress inventory. The plant and machinery have been properly laid out to optimize productivity and ease of operation. Some of the advance features of the plant are the automated seaming and dry tape leak testing machines. A well equipped laboratory with advanced facilities for impulse and pressure testing, efficiency testing, paper porosity testing, salt spray testing etc adds to the customer confidence. The plant will have an installed capacity to churn out as many as 6 million oil and air filters every year. That’s over 20,000 filters a day. Even the best of equipment is only as good as the people working on it. Therefore care has been taken to foster a culture of quality throughout the entire company – from the directors on the board to the workers on the shop floor. Our aim is not to control quality but to assure quality. Therefore, strict quality assurance measures are followed at each stage to prevent errors and defects. To the consumers this means that they can trust this product utterly and completely. Marketed under the brand name of Rima, the company’s filters have been specially manufactured to withstand the extreme temperatures and rugged terrain of the Arabian Gulf Region. Some of its special features include:

 

• An “OUT – IN” full flow design that traps abrasive contaminants and harmful particles as the oil flows through it.

• Impregnated paper for improved efficiency and reduced abrasive engine wear.

• Thicker AHLSTROM filter media for longer life and best results.

• Improved dust capacity per unit area.

• Metal end plates for sealing of filter media to prevent it from deforming at high pressure or temperature. • Double safety valve provided for enhanced engine safety.

• Each and every filter leak tested with computerized machines to rule out chances of a leak.

◊ SABAH RADIATOR CORES

Based in the United Arab Emirates, in 1996 saw the birth of Sabah Radiators Company. In a short span of time, Sabah has set new standards of excellence in the Radiator industry.
